Telecom Lead America: GENBAND, a developer of IP
infrastructure and application solutions has inked a new long-term lease in
Ottawa for its Canadian R&D Center of Excellence.
GENBAND’s core IP switching and multimedia development
teams will be operating from this new facility. Additionally, the new facility
will house members of GENBAND’s Global Services team as well as Sales,
Marketing and other corporate functions.
GENBAND’s teams support a range of products in the
company’s broad portfolio, including the GENBAND GENiUS Universal Services
Platform, GENWare Middleware and GENView OAM&P (Operation, Administration,
Maintenance and Provisioning) System.
The new GENBAND facility includes more than 70,000 square
feet of lab, office, customer support and briefing spaces.
The company said that the new facility will strengthen
its presence in the Ottawa region. GENBAND forayed into Ottawa region by
acquiring Nortel’s Carrier VoIP and Application Solutions assets in 2010.

The GENiUS platform was launched in February this year,
which provides best-in-class elements for both integrated and distributed IMS
environments.
GENBAND expands S3 SBC portfolio
Recently, GENBAND announced the expansion of its S3
Session Border Controller (SBC) portfolio. Also, the company has enhanced
hardware options for its S3 SBC portfolio.
