Anil Nair resigns from AGC Networks as Jt.MD and president

Anil Nair, joint managing director and president of AGC Networks, has resigned. He will be moving to Aegis Consulting as its president after spending 16 years with AGC Networks.

At AGC Networks, an Essar Enterprise, Anil was responsible for AGC’s business that includes IP Telephony, contact centers and unified communication. AGC has an employee base of 700 people across India and Australia.

Until Essar group picked up equity stake AGC Networks, Anil was completely responsible for the success of the company. After the Essar stake buy out, Anil shared responsibilities with S. K. Jha who was brought to the company by the Essar group.

Anil has been with AGC since 1997, initially as its sales leader and later in an expanded capacity as president. Much of the 44 percent average growth over 10 years that Avaya has enjoyed in India and its market dominance is a direct result of Anil’s efforts and his aggressive fact based, collaborative leadership style.

Prior to joining AGC, Anil was with Bradma India, a Tata company, from 1980 to 1986 and from 1989 to 1997. At Bradma, Anil ran the Retail Automation business and the marketing operations for Industrial Marking Systems, Banking and Postal Automation Systems. Between 1986 and 1989, Anil worked with Megaware Computers, where his team pioneered dealerised PC sales and set up a franchised chain of Computer Education Centers.

Anil firmly believes that technology must enable business value for the end customer and solve their business problems. He endorses a simple rule of “No ROI – No Sale” and has spearheaded various initiatives and strategies within the company around that.
