Airtel Wi-Fi dongles promise 21.6 mbps download speed on 3G

Indian telecom service provider Bharti Airtel introduced its 3G Wi-Fi dongles offering download speeds of up to 21.6 mbps speed on 3G.

Airtel’s 3G Wi-Fi dongles – powered by HSPA+ technology — will be available in telecom circles such as Mumbai and Andhra Pradesh in the initial phase. Airtel said other locations will be covered in phases.

Customers can also create a Wi-Fi hotspot anywhere, anytime by plugging the dongle to any USB port – be it laptop, phone charger or a car stereo.

Airtel customers can connect up to 5 devices including mobile, tablet, laptop) simultaneously to access the 3G broadband.

Retail chains including Vijay Sales, TMS & Reliance Digital in Mumbai and Universal, Hot Spot & Technovision in Andhra Pradesh are selling the Airtel 3G dongles.
