Tata Sky slashes price of HD set top box to Rs 2,000

DTH service provider Tata Sky has slashed the price of its high definition (HD) set top box to Rs 2,000 from Rs 3,100 earlier.

With the price reduction, Tata Sky HD set top boxes will be available at the price of a standard definition (SD) set top box.

Tata Sky, chief commercial officer Vikram Mehram said that equating the price of the HD box to an SD box will further accelerate the adoption of HD service.
