Bell Canada in STB deal with ARRIS for Fibe TV IPTV service

Bell Canada announced its set-top technology deal with ARRIS to offer better television experience to its Fibe TV customers.

Fibe TV is the IPTV service of Bell Canada. Bell’s Fibe TV IPTV service has more than 1.5 million customers in Canada.

Bell’s engineers will be ensuring that the deployment of Ericsson’s MediaFirst platform is offering 4K HDR experience with more sharpness and clarity.

MediaFirst – powered by ARRIS set-top technology — delivers personalized multiscreen, TV Everywhere, IPTV and pay TV services. ARRIS set-top technology features 4K HDR capabilities, fast 802.11ac and 4×4 Wi-Fi.

Rizwan Jamal, president of Bell Residential Services and Small Business, said Fibe TV became Canada’s #1 TV service by offering an outstanding viewing experience that’s both personalized and on-demand.

Larry Robinson, president of ARRIS CPE, said the ARRIS Global Services team will provide integration services and customization for the user experience.
