The rise of Globe’s GFiber: The fastest-growing prepaid fiber brand

Globe Telecom said its GFiber Prepaid is the fastest-growing prepaid fiber brand in the Philippines, reaching 260,000 subscribers in Q4 2024, a 74 percent increase from the previous quarter.

This growth reflects the rising demand for flexible and affordable prepaid fiber services and aligns with Globe Telecom’s strategy to expand broadband connectivity. Customer engagement has been strong, with a 78 percent reload rate, the highest among prepaid brands, and a Net Promoter Score of 68, surpassing regional benchmarks.

GFiber Prepaid played a key role in revitalizing Globe’s broadband business, leading to the first growth in the fiber segment in over three years. Broadband revenues increased by 2 percent, and subscriber numbers grew by 3 percent quarter-over-quarter, highlighting the success of Globe’s transition to fiber. Fiber services saw a 2 percent rise in revenue and a 16 percent jump in subscribers, with a 13 percent year-on-year increase in fixed-wired customers.

Despite competition, Globe remains confident in GFiber Prepaid’s growth potential, as emphasized by Abigail Cardino, Vice President for Globe Broadband Business. GFiber Prepaid’s reloadable UNLI fiber plans, available in 7-day, 15-day, 30-day, or one-year options with no lock-up period and installation within 24 hours, have redefined high-speed internet access.
