Telekom Brunei invests in 60 Wi-Fi hotspots

Free Wi-Fi
Telekom Brunei (TelBru), a telecom service provider in Brunei, has selected Aptilo Networks for its Wi-Fi service through more than 60 Wi-Fi hotspots.

The Aptilo Service Management Platform (SMP) enables seamless Wi-Fi experience by ensuing better handoffs when roaming between Wi-Fi hotspots.

“Aptilo’s proven track record of success with carrier Wi-Fi made them the right choice for TelBru,” said Lim Ming Soon, chief marketing officer of TelBru.

Initially, users will enjoy 30 minutes of free Wi-Fi after requesting an SMS code. Shortly after, TelBru will enable prepaid access through vouchers, and postpaid access for existing users of TelBru’s fixed wireless service.

TelBru will monetize the network by enabling Wi-Fi services to verticals such as sports venues, airports and coffee shops. They will also offer wholesale capacity to MNOs and establish roaming agreements with operators overseas to further expand their customer base.

Aptilo claims that more than 100 telecom network operators have deployed its Service Management Platform (SMP) for Wi-Fi service management and Wi-Fi offload.
