Fiber internet service provider Spectranet announced a new name — Spectra — for its broadband services in India.

Spectra will be offering 100 Mbps only plans for its broadband customers in Delhi, Gurgaon, Noida, Ghaziabad, Mumbai, Chennai and Bangalore.

Spectra said it has set a new benchmark in the FTTH category in India by providing 100 Mbps speed across all its packages at affordable price points.

“Spectra’s focus is to expand its footprint and reach deeper into its markets so that it can help make life better for more people and families. Recently, Netflix ranked Spectra erstwhile Spectranet as the fastest ISP in India,” said Udit Mehrotra, MD and CEO of Spectra.

According to TRAI, the top five wired broadband service providers are BSNL with 9.73 million users, Bharti Airtel with 2.1 million, Atria Convergence Technologies with 1.22 million, MTNL with 0.98 million and YOU Broadband with 0.65 million customers in India as on 30 June, 2017.

Udit Mehrotra said the company is aiming to expand business operation to maximize customer base in existing cities.

The company will provide more services to its customers apart from being a high speed internet with unlimited data usage.

Indian consumers are looking for high speed internet for services such as video streaming, gaming, education, video conference, medical assistance or eGovernance.
