Hughes and Jupiter power Frontier’s satellite broadband services in rural markets of Washington

Telecom Lead America: Hughes EchoStar XVII Satellite and Jupiter are powering Frontier Communications’ satellite broadband services in rural markets of northwest Washington state.

This satellite-based broadband service will deliver increased speed and capacity to households and small businesses within markets previously unserved or underserved by any broadband provider, including cable.

Rich Klena, Frontier Senior Vice President and General Manager for Oregon and Washington, said: “This new service allows rural America to increase commerce, provide distance learning, health care access, provide streaming video, entertainment programs and general high speed internet access- and is a real game-changer for those hard-to-reach communities we serve.”

Frontier Broadband leverages Hughes EchoStar XVII Satellite with JUPITER High-Throughput Technology that was launched on July 5, 2012, and which enables HughesNet Gen4 satellite Internet services for Frontier Broadband customers. HughesNet Gen4 offers increased performance and capacity, including support for high-bandwidth applications.

Frontier has priced satellite broadband services between $52 to $145.48 per month depending on personal speed requirements, contract plans and the need for any additional equipment.
