Huawei sells 1 mn data cards in India in 18 months via open market sales

Huawei on Tuesday said it has sold 1 million data cards in India in 18 months during 2013-2014 – through open market sales.

The Chinese telecom network vendor said it’s the market leader in data cards globally and in India. It competes with ZTE, Micromax, and others.

The demand for Wi-Fi data cards is one of the growth drivers for the achievement, said Huawei in a statement.

Allen Wang, president, Huawei Consumer BG India, said: “Huawei wants to ensure that innovative data cards are reaching the Indian enterprise users and the youth population.”

P Sanjeev, sales director, Huawei Consumer BG India, said: “Our focus on customer feedback and providing them with solutions that they need, has helped us reach this milestone. This further reiterates the confidence and trust that both consumers and channel partners have shown in brand Huawei.”
