AT&T to hire nearly 160 resources in Louisiana

AT&T on Monday said it would be hiring nearly 160 resources in Louisiana – targeting on retail, technician and customer service jobs.

Between 2011 and 2013, AT&T invested approximately $1.2 billion in its Louisiana wireless and wired networks.

So far this year, AT&T hired more than 500 new employees in Louisiana, including more than 200 technicians.

In 2013, the company hired 1,375 employees. AT&T currently employs more than 4,700 employees throughout Louisiana and consistently hires new talent.

Last year, AT&T invested more than $175 million in its wired and wireless networks in Louisiana.

As a part of its hiring drive in Louisiana and across the country, AT&T is looking to hire 10,000military veterans and their families in the next five years.

The company has established a Military Talent Attraction team, which focuses on promoting AT&T’s career opportunities to veterans and educating managers across AT&T on the benefits of hiring military veterans.

AT&T invested about $280 million training employees and about $26.6 million in tuition aid during 2012.
