Telecom Lead America: BTI Systems, a service
delivery provider for metro network operators, has increased its packet optical
transport systems (POTS) market position to surpass Huawei.

Worldwide reveals that BTI’s increasing worldwide momentum has helped it to
increase its market share. The report adds that BTI is gaining on Ciena.
The report further substantiates that BTI has passed
Huawei in packet optical transport market share and is gaining on Ciena.
BTI additionally announced an increase of more than 85
percent of new Mobile Backhaul customers across North America and APAC.
“The fastest growing segment of the overall $12
billion optical market is packet optical transport systems. Vendors, including
BTI, who stay ahead of operator requirements with solutions that help drive new
revenues will be the ones to thrive in this highly competitive marketplace,”
said Eve Griliches, principal analyst at ACG Research.
BTI claims that it is the first with a solution that
supports widespread 3G and 4G deployments in metro and regional networks by
providing an end-to-end, unified packet approach for voice, data and multimedia
services with comprehensive service management.
Furthermore, it adds that its expanded customer
relationships with Epsilon Telecommunications and Frontier
Communications.
The company plans to strengthen its Integrated
Services Delivery Platform with new solutions that will enable service
providers to profitably keep pace with the rapid growth in high-demand
services, including over-the-top (OTT) video, cloud computing, mobility and
Ethernet business services.
“Significant drivers, including the explosive growth
in tablet devices, demand for OTT video and the move by enterprises to cloud
services are fueling new customer opportunities for BTI. We are poised to
leverage these trends, and this new ACG report confirms that we are making
strong progress in the packet optical networking market,” said Steve Waszak,
