HPE and Cisco lost cloud IT infrastructure market share

The latest IDC report indicates that HPE and Cisco have lost their cloud IT infrastructure market share in Q3 2018, while Dell, Inspur and Lenovo grew their share.
Top Cloud IT vendors in Q3 2018The cloud IT infrastructure revenue share of Dell was 14.2 percent in Q3 2018. HP Enterprise has 9.8 percent share for the second two position.

Cisco with 6.4 percent share, Inspur with 6.3 percent share and Lenovo with 4.8 percent share are the other top Cloud IT infrastructure vendors during the third quarter of 2018, IDC said.

Cloud IT infrastructure products revenue including server, enterprise storage, and Ethernet switch rose 47.2 percent to $16.8 billion in the third quarter of 2018.

IDC said cloud IT infrastructure spending in 2018 will reach $65.2 billion with 37.2 percent growth.

Natalya Yezhkova, research director, IT Infrastructure and Platforms, said: “We expect some slowdown in 2019 as the overall market cools down and some cloud providers work through adjustments in their supply chain.”
