Ooredoo, Nokia set up 5G technology center in Myanmar

Ooredoo in association with telecom equipment maker Nokia has set up the 5G-ready technology center in Myanmar.

The Nokia Technology Center has equipment including Nokia’s multi-radio AirScale – that supports 2G, 3G, 4G and 5G – and anyhaul transport, including IP and Microwave equipment, cloud-native core network and the associated power, materials and infrastructure.

Nokia and Ooredoo will be providing an internship program for students to work as technology developers and service providers.

Vikram Sinha, CEO of Ooredoo Myanmar and Danabalan Amirthalingam, head of Nokia Myanmar, were instrumental in setting up the Nokia Technology Center.
