Indian telecom operator BSNL plans to deploy 100,000 wi-fi hotspots across the country by 2018-end.
BSNL will deploy the wi-fi network through a combination of models, including revenue share with partners as well as BSNL’s own capital expenditure model.
BSNL Chairman and Managing Director Anupam Shrivastava said the state-owned telecom operator has already deployed 18,000 wi-fi hotspots in India.
BSNL, in partnership with QuadGen, has launched free wi-fi services at Udwada village, Valsad district in Gujarat.
