Cyberoam unveils 1GbE and 10GbE fiber port UTM appliances

Telecom Lead India: Cyberoam, a division of Elitecore
Technologies, unveiled new 1GbE and 10GbE fiber port UTM appliances designed
for enterprise security applications.

The new appliances will offer fiber port connectivity
option in mid-range UTM appliances, offering the benefits of these appliances
to SMBs.

10GbE fiber ports are usually offered by carrier grade
UTM appliances, meaning SMBs and enterprises spend more on higher-end UTM
appliances to support their fiber connectivity.

The new Fiber port UTM appliances from Cyberoam  will allow organizations to get benefits
offered by fiber connections including high reliability, low environment
sensitivity and noise-free network connection.

The addition of 1GbE and 10GbE fiber ports in Cyberoam’s
mid-level appliances will now offer affordable network security over fiber port
connectivity to SMBs,” said Abhilash Sonwane, Sr. VP, Product Management,
Cyberoam. While Cyberoam’s existing enterprise-level appliances already have
1GbE fiber ports, the addition of 10GbE port UTM appliances to this range will
offer network security to enterprises over 10GbE fiber connectivity.”

Cyberoam Identity-based UTM appliances offer
comprehensive protection against existing and emerging Internet threats,
including viruses, worms, Trojans, spyware, phishing, pharming and more. They
deliver features such as stateful inspection firewall, VPN, gateway anti-virus,
gateway anti-malware, gateway anti-spam, intrusion prevention system, content
filtering in addition to bandwidth management and multiple link management over
a single platform.

The new fiber port UTM appliances create a new
opportunity for Cyberoam partners by including organizations having 1GbE and
10GbE fiber connectivity in their gambit. With all the features of Cyberoam’s
comprehensive network security, these appliances benefit the IT teams with
complete control and visibility of their network, tackle insider threats and
meet regulatory compliance needs.

Cyberoam adds advanced threat detection capabilities in UTM
appliance

Recently at the RSA Conference, Cyberoam announced the
addition of the Web Application Firewall (WAF) feature in its UTM appliance
range with advanced threat detection capabilities. The new feature will add a
strong layer of protection to corporate websites and web-based applications
which are becoming a frequent and favorite target of hackers, the company said.
