Sterlite Tech bags Rs 3,500 crore network order from Indian Navy

SterliteSterlite Tech has bagged a Rs 3,500 crore advance purchase order to build and manage the communications network for the Indian Navy.

Sterlite Tech will build a smarter network infrastructure with enhanced throughput, high-quality secure services and ease of network management.

Anand Agarwal, CEO of Sterlite Tech, said: “Our recent experience of creating an intrusion-proof communication network for the Indian Army in Jammu & Kashmir will be leveraged for the Navy’s communications network.”

KS Rao, COO and MD (Telecom Products & Services), Sterlite Tech, said the company will lead the planning and designing of a converged MPLS infrastructure on a two-layered centrally-managed IP backbone.

The project includes the creation of a high-capacity Internet Protocol – Multi Protocol Label Switching (IP-MPLS) network linking multiple Indian naval sites and India-administered islands.
