TRAI consultation paper on unsolicited calls and SMS

Unsolidated calls and complaints in IndiaTRAI (Telecom Regulatory Authority of India) has issued a consultation paper on unsolicited commercial communication on 14 September 2017.

Telecom industry stakeholders can send their comments to Asit Kadayan, advisor (QoS) of TRAI before 12 October 2017.

With the latest consultation paper, TRAI is making one more attempt to reduce unsolicited calls and SMS to India’s 100 crore plus phone users.

“Though telemarketing voice calls are largely controlled, unsolicited SMS persists and customers who have registered their preference not to receive such SMS are still getting them,” said TRAI.
