Snapdragon 835 to power mobile PCs from ASUS, HP and Lenovo

Qualcomm for 5GQualcomm Technologies said ASUS, HP and Lenovo will develop mobile PCs utilizing Snapdragon 835 mobile PC Platform featuring X16 LTE modem.

“With compatibility for the Windows 10 ecosystem, the Snapdragon Mobile PC Platform will enable Windows 10 hardware makers to develop next-generation modern device form factors and deliver unparalleled anytime, anywhere creation experiences with up to Gigabit Class LTE connectivity,” said Cristiano Amon, executive vice president, Qualcomm Technologies.

ASUS, HP and Lenovo, OEM clients of Qualcomm Technologies, will bring out sleek, thin and fanless PCs running a Windows 10 experience with LTE connectivity offering superior battery life (more than one-day).

The Snapdragon 835 SoC built into the Mobile PC Platform features the Qualcomm Kryo 280 CPU, Qualcomm Adreno 540 GPU and Qualcomm Hexagon 682 DSP, to manage separate heterogenous workloads.

Jeff Meredith, senior vice president, PCs and smart devices, consumer business segment, Lenovo; Jerry Shen, chief executive officer, ASUS; and Matt Barlow, corporate vice president, Windows marketing, Microsoft supported innovation from Qualcomm.

With an integrated Snapdragon X16 Gigabit LTE modem, devices will support peak download speeds of up to 1Gbps. The Snapdragon 835 Mobile PC Platform will feature 2×2 802.11ac MU-MIMO for optimal Wi-Fi connectivity.
