Active Broadband Networks unveils subscriber control platform

Telecom Lead America: Active Broadband Networks, a
provider of dynamic service management platforms for broadband providers, has
launched the Active Service Manager, a subscriber service communication and
control platform.

The new platform empowers consumers by giving them
real-time insight into usage consumption, and enables them to make timely
choices about service options.

The company claims that the Active Service Manager
combines subscriber self service, subscriber communications and service
transaction in a single platform that provides operators with an infrastructure
and tools to develop branded subscriber service portals through which customers
can access account data and dynamically purchase services.

The new platform leverages information from Active
Resource Manager that provides subscriber data management and policy control.
The Active Service Manager allows customers to subscribe to and/or modify
services, gain real-time information about service usage, be notified of
service management or usage-based actions, and conduct financial transactions.

“The Active Service Manager is a game-changing
technology advance for broadband providers,” said Adam Dunstan, president
and CEO of Active Broadband
Networks
.

“By leveraging service usage information to automate
the provisioning and management of services, and empowering subscribers to
control and purchase — à la carte, in real time, with a credit card — the
services they want, operators can begin to balance the bandwidth supply-demand
equation, and transform the subscriber experience, creating more satisfied and
engaged customers,” Dunstan added.

The launch of the new platform is significant as
broadband providers are seeking to expand their service offerings to include
conditional-unlimited and consumption-based alternatives, which will enable
them to improve subscriber experience, increase subscriber choice, create new
service packages and align service delivery costs with usage.

The Active Service Manager is designed to help them
achieve this by leveraging subscriber usage data to enable new service controls
and by making subscriber-controlled dynamic service activation possible, which
increases transaction frequency, and unlocks the opportunity for providers to
increase revenues while significantly reducing costs through automation and
subscriber self service.
