Sprint to create 5,000 jobs in America

sprint-and-technologyAmerican wireless major Sprint said it will create or bring back to America 5,000 jobs.

These jobs will support a variety of functions across the organization including its customer care and sales teams.

Sprint, a SoftBank company, will start discussions immediately with its business partners, states and cities to determine the right locations in the U.S. to create these jobs. The company expects to fulfill this commitment by the end of its fiscal year 2017 and will provide additional details when they are available.

Earlier, US president elect Donald Trump urged American corporates to create more job opportunities in the nation.

SoftBank, a telecom and internet major in the U.S, earlier announced intention to make investment of $50 billion in American technology start-ups.

“We believe it is critical for business and government to partner together to create more job opportunities in the U.S. and ensure prosperity for all Americans,” said Sprint CEO Marcelo Claure, in a statement.

Sprint, with nearly 60 million customers in the US, is the fourth largest wireless operator — behind Verizon, AT&T and T-Mobile.
