NETGEAR has launched new DSL modem with ultra-fast VDSL connections to accelerate performance of HD streaming and online gaming applications.
The product termed, NETGEAR Broadband High-Speed DSL Modem (DM200), is an up-gradation to the current model with better speed for VDSL/VDSL2 Internet and also for ADSL, ADSL2 and ADSL2+ connections.
Internet Service Providers (ISPs) are in a move to switch from present ADSL infrastructure to VDSL to match up to demand for faster internet speeds.
DM200 high speed ADSL/VDSL modem claiming support for VDSL/VDSL2 is also backward compatible to ADSL/ADSL2+, enabling usage with both existing and future DSL Internet service tiers.
“We are pleased to offer our latest modem, the DM200, which is designed to deliver superior broadband xDSL performance” said David Henry, senior vice president, Home Consumer Products, NETGEAR.
The modem will interface with a desktop PC for ultra-fast wired DSL Internet access, or can be used as a WiFi router to support multiple devices on your network.
The device provides support for all major providers like AT&T, CenturyLink, Verizon, Frontier, Telstra (excluding AT&T U-verse, Verizon Fios, CenturyLink Fiber and Prism) and sports auto detection for universal DSL support.
The setup and installation has also been simplified, states the company.
The device is available now from major retailer stores and online at an MSRP of $59.99 (USD).
