Nokia bags radio access network deal from Three Ireland

Nokia Flexi Multiradio 10 Base Station
Telecom network operator Three Ireland has signed a five-year contract with Nokia to upgrade radio access network operations.

Nokia will centralize Three Ireland’s radio access network operations covering multi-vendor technologies. Nokia will provide its managed services including Global Network Operations Center in Lisbon, Portugal alongside in-country management.

From Lisbon, Portugal, Nokia will provide real-time remote support to manage the new consolidated radio network to deliver the highest quality of service for Three Ireland’s customers.

Nokia will also extend its NetAct operations support system to intelligently capture and process relevant network insights, providing full visibility and advanced network management across the expanded network.

David Hennessy, chief technology officer at Three Ireland, said: “By moving to one managed services supplier across our radio access network, we will have a more transparent structure, simplifying operations and enhancing network performance.”
