ZTE in 100G network deal with Ethio Telecom

ZTE SDON solution
Telecom network maker ZTE announced its deal with Ethio Telecom to construct its 100G dense wavelength division multiplexing optical transport network (DWDM/OTN) backbone transmission network in the western and southern regions of Ethiopia.

ZTE said the 100G DWDM/OTN transmission backbone network will enable faster network transmission by increasing capacity 10-fold and help Ethio Telecom develop 3G, LTE and broadband services.

ZTE claims that it gained 50 percent of the market share for the optical network, which consolidates its position as a leader in the Ethiopian optical network market.
