Airtel 4G coverage reaches 100 towns in Kerala

Airtel 3G and 4GTelecom network operator Bharti Airtel today said its 4G coverage in Kerala reached 100 towns with the launch of service in Kannur.

Airtel is investing heavily into its 4G and 3G networks across the country. In November 2015, Airtel announced its Rs 60,000 crore investment program called Project Leap to enhance quality of services and coverage. Bharti Airtel is investing in new base stations to increase network coverage in the next three years.

George Mathen, hub CEO – Kerala & Tamil Nadu, Bharti Airtel, said: “We launched Kerala’s first 4G Network in Kochi in August 2015, and in just six months our 4G presence has spread to 100 towns.”

Last week, Bharti Airtel said it started deploying India’s first commercial LTE-Advanced network in Kerala that can deliver mobile data speeds up to 135 Mbps.
