Globe Telecom plans $750 million investment in 2016

Globe Telecom announced its decision to make up to $750 million investment towards capital expenditure (Capex) for 2016.

The focus areas of Globe Telecom will be data, including  the deployment of LTE mobile and LTE @Home, increased network capacities and coverage as well as enhancement of fixed line data infrastructure and transmission facilities.

“The company’s aggressive stance to continue investing in its network reach and capacity is geared towards enhancing its customers’ digital lifestyle,” said Globe Telecom.

Globe Telecom, over the last two years, devoted up to 24 percent of revenues for its infrastructure build.

Globe Telecom had a Capex to revenue ratio of 28 percent in 2015, and 27 percent in 2014 for both wireless and wireline, which were higher than the Philippine telecommunications industry average of 23 percent in both 2015 and 2014.

Globe Telecom posted service revenues of P113.7 billion (+15 percent), while net income rose 23 percent to P16.5 billion.
