Ericsson said its India revenue rose 34 percent to $373.99 million or SEK 3.2 billion in the fourth quarter of 2015.
The 2015 revenue of Ericsson grew 74 percent to $1,566.13 million.
Ericsson India generated SEK 1.7 billion from telecom network sales, SEK 1.3 billion from global services and SEK 0.1 billion from support solutions during the fourth quarter of 2015.
Global sales of Ericsson rose 8 percent to SEK 73.6 billion or $8.6 billion in Q4 and 8 percent to SEK 246.9 billion or $28.86 billion in 2015.
Ericsson India
Ericsson India says its Q4 sales were strong, driven by investments in mobile broadband to support the high growth in data usage.
Telecom network vendors are betting big on 4G infrastructure growth in India. 4G LTE network deployments by Reliance Jio Infocomm, Vodafone India, Idea Cellular and Bharti Airtel have also started.
Ericsson India says 2015 sales growth was driven by increased telecom operator investments in mobile broadband infrastructure and Professional Services. Increased focus on network quality and cost optimization continued to drive strong sales growth for Managed Services. Support Solutions sales showed significant growth, driven by OSS and BSS.
Ericsson global sales
Ericsson says its 8 percent growth was fuelled by growth in India, North America and Mainland China as well as higher IPR licensing revenues.
The telecom network maker posted lower sales in Japan, Russia and Brazil.
Ericsson said global services sales grew 11 percent, while networks sales grew 5 percent and support solutions sales 19 percent.
A strong USD was one of the reasons for impacting sales positively. At the same time the strong USD gradually impacted investments in some emerging markets.

Core business
Ericsson will continue work to capture business opportunities as more markets shift to 4G. It will work to extend technology leadership in the emerging 5G market.
Targeted growth areas
“After a period of investing, in order to create growth, we also need to improve earnings. This will involve stronger focus on software sales and recurring business as a complement to the already strong Professional Services business,” said Ericsson CEO Hans Vestberg.
Ericsson employees
The number of employees decreased by 1,774 at Ericsson. The number of employees at Ericsson was 116,281 in 2015 against 118,055 in 2014. Ericsson hired almost 15,000 employees during the year and close to 17,000 employees left Ericsson, reflecting the natural attrition rate and ongoing company transformation.
