Vodafone adds more telecom towers at trade fair in Delhi

Telecom network operator Vodafone India has set up additional mobile base transceiver stations (BTS) towers inside Pragati Maidan to facilitate better connectivity and voice and data services for visitors at the 35th India International Trade Fair (IITF) in New Delhi from November 14 – November 27, 2015.

Over 7,000 domestic and foreign firms are participating in the India International Trade Fair (IITF) 2015. Firms from 28 countries are participating.

Due to its mobility features, these mobile BTS towers can be deployed anywhere across the Pragati Maidan area based on customer requirements. The company did not disclose the specific number of the BTS installed at the trade fair which was inaugurated by India President Pranab Mukherjee.

Vodafone has also been doing drive tests in Delhi to identify and solve quality related concerns. The company has also established special War rooms to monitor the network situation 24×7.

Vodafone has invested more than Rs 350 crore to modernize and upgrade existing voice and data network in Delhi. During the period of April-October 2015, Vodafone has set up over 730 3G/2G sites in Delhi NCR, while it enhanced the capacity of the existing 550 sites.

Vodafone has 12,605 sites in Delhi NCR which includes 6,190 2G sites and 6,415 3G sites. The company has over 98 lakh subscribers in the Delhi NCR region.
