Ericsson bags 4G LTE network deal from XL Axiata

Telecom network vendor Ericsson has bagged a 3-year deal from XL Axiata to deploy 4G LTE network and upgrade existing 2G and 3G networks in Jakarta and Central Java in Indonesia.

Ericsson in a statement said that it will supply hardware, software and services to deliver 4G LTE services for XL Axiata’s subscribers.

“We are looking forward to the implementation of the 4G/LTE network and the improved mobile broadband experience this will deliver for our subscribers,” said Dian Siswarini, president director and CEO of XL Axiata.

Ericsson said it has supplied more than 220 LTE RAN and evolved Packet Core networks, of which 170 are live commercially.
