Uninor changes its name to Telenor India

Telenor India
Telenor Group today announced that Uninor, its subsidiary in India, will change its name to Telenor India Communications.

Telenor India has 40 million customers in the country.

“This is about preparing Telenor India for a new and exciting future. By taking a broader, value-driven position, Telenor India will appeal to new audiences with innovative services and a customer-first approach,” said Sigve Brekke, president and CEO, Telenor Group.

Telenor India will invest significantly in transforming its telecom network and retail presence across its 6 circles. By modernizing the entire network – in association with Huawei — it is preparing to offer high-speed Internet services for mass-market consumers in future.

Telenor India claims that it is the fastest growing mobile operator in the six circles and has grown to take the 4th position in revenue and customer market share.

Vivek Sood, CEO of Telenor India, said that the telecoms will continue to offer the most affordable services and deliver solutions like call drop reimbursement, customized product offers and build excellence in customer service.

Earlier this year the company transformed all its call centers and introduced tools to improve customer service. The multilingual *121# self-help menu, single IVR systems and better training of staff on quick resolution of issues has enhanced customer experience.

The company has launched innovative products like Rocket Recharge that offers customized tariff plans based on customers usage pattern.

Telenor India has extended the call drop reimbursements offer to all calls – Local, STD and ISD.
