CommScope opens antenna manufacturing facility in Europe

CommScope two-piece concealment solution for metro cells

CommScope has opened its new antenna manufacturing facility in Brno, Czech Republic.

The strategy of CommScope, which will produce base station antennas at the latest manufacturing unit, will be to significantly reduce lead times before delivery and assist telecom operator in Europe to speed up their aggressive LTE deployment.

“The antennas from our new Brno facility will make LTE and LTE-Advanced deployments easier and faster to achieve for European customers,” said Phil Sorsky, vice president, Sales, Europe, CommScope.

CommScope said the antenna production unit can produce up to 60,000 antennas. The unit will have enough capacity to more than double that production amount in year two. CommScope expects the facility to have more than 500 employees once fully staffed.
