Keysight Technologies, a wireless test and measurement company, has introduced six millimeter-wave models by expanding its FieldFox handheld analyzers.
The T&M company claims that this is the industry’s first handheld combination analyzer providing coverage to 50 GHz. FieldFox can replace three or four single-function instruments – benchtop or handheld – for maintenance and troubleshooting of systems that operate at or above Ka-band frequencies.
“At 7.1 pounds, the new FieldFox models deliver laboratory-grade measurements that enable field personnel to fully characterize today’s most demanding radar and satellite systems,” said Dan Dunn, general manager for RF and microwave handheld analyzers.
The starting price of the N9950A 32 GHz FieldFox microwave combination analyzer is $28,000 in the U.S., said Keysight.
Three combination-analyzer models cover 32, 44 or 50 GHz and provide spectrum analysis, vector network analysis and cable and antenna testing in a rugged, portable unit. The three spectrum analyzer models cover the same frequency range.
Keysight Technologies is promising up to eight times faster spectrum measurements as compared with comparable analyzers. FieldFox millimeter-wave analyzers are also three pounds lighter than similar units from other vendors.
The company has made the sealed enclosure – no fans or vents – compliant with US MIL-PRF-28800F Class 2 standards. The latest analyzers meet MIL-STD-810G requirements for operation in explosive environments. FieldFox analyzers also meet IEC/EN 60529 IP53 requirements for protection from dust and water, said Keysight.
