Banglalion Communications has selected Alepo’s LTE convergent charging and billing platform to support the proposed launch of LTE services in Bangladesh.
Alepo’s convergent charging and billing platform will support Banglalion to offer competitive LTE data offers. Alepo said its billing solution enables features as data rollover, family and shared data plans, emergency top-ups, loyalty rewards, and more.
Banglalion can combine its WiMax and LTE services onto a single, convergent platform for cost savings and flexibility between the two technologies.
In 2009, Banglalion deployed Alepo’s charging and billing solutions for its WiMax network.
Ekhlas Uddin Ahmed, CTO of Banglalion, said: “Our continued partnership with Alepo ensures that we are able to lead the mobile broadband market in a way that is also cost-effective and assuring of our investment.”
Banglalion, as part of the proposed LTE deployment, will utilize Alepo Service Enabler 9 solution, a BSS / OSS framework, benefitting from real-time charging, CRM, web self-care, and automatic customer alerts for better customer experience.
Bangladesh Telecommunication Regulatory Commission (BTRC) said Bangladesh has 47.42 million active internet subscribers in May 2015. Out of this, 45.97 million are mobile Internet users, 0.188 million WiMax subscribers, 1.261 million ISP / PSTN users, said BTRC. With a population of about 156 million there is a high potential for LTE growth in Bangladesh.
Dan Stern, vice president of Sales at Alepo, said: “As the 4G LTE market in Bangladesh emerges rapidly, we are proud to be a partner of BCL and to ensure the company’s continued competitive advantage and market success.”
In August 2014, Banglalion, the largest 4G service provider in Bangladesh, and Huawei have signed a new agreement to upgrade and expand its LTE-4G network.
