Nokia Networks advances multivendor SON for 2G, 3G and LTE

Nokia Networks has unveiled its new product Nokia Eden-NET, a multivendor Self Organizing Networks (SON) solution for 2G, 3G and 4G networks.

The company described this development as an important step towards its vision to enable self-aware networks for personalized experiences.

The launch of the new solution is expected to advance Nokia Networks’ multivendor SON capabilities. It will also respond to operators’ need to simplify, improve agility and efficiency of rapidly changing networks operations, the company said.

The solution, according to Nokia Networks, offers substantial improvements to the performance and reliability of mobile networks through automated processes. Operators can both customize and create new SON modules to remedy operator-specific pain points. The solution will provide the required agility and boost industry-wide SON innovation.

The solution will be available in 6 to12 months, the company said.
