Keysight Technologies is set to acquire Anite, a U.K.-based test and measurement solutions vendor for the wireless market, for $606 million.
The half-year revenue of Anite, which generates revenue from handset and network testing, was £49 million.
“As a leading supplier of software solutions for wireless research and development, Anite is aligned with Keysight’s strategy to grow in wireless and increase our software offerings,” said Ron Nersesian, president and CEO of Keysight Technologies.
The acquisition of Anite will enable Keysight to boost T&M revenues. Keysight earlier said its third-quarter 2015 revenues are expected to be in the range of $635 million to $675 million.
Keysight Technologies reported flat growth in revenues to $740 million for the second fiscal quarter ended April 30, 2015 with a net income of $96 million.
Interestingly, Keysight is acquiring the small rival Anite for $606 million. Anite, for the six months ended 31 October 2014, posted 3 percent increase in revenue to £49 million. The company said network testing order intake was flat, with order intake in handset testing down 7 percent.

The acquisition of Anite enables Keysight Technologies to expand test and measurement solutions into the software layer for design and validation, strengthen the wireless research and development cycle.
Fleet, UK-based Anite works with major manufacturers of mobile devices, chipsets and network equipment, mobile network operators, regulatory authorities, and independent test houses. With offices in 14 countries, Anite has more than 500 employees throughout the world.
Keysight had revenues of $2.9 billion in fiscal year 2014. Keysight supplies electronic measurement instruments, systems, software and services for the design, development, manufacture, installation, deployment and operation of electronic equipment.
