Coriant, a provider of SDN-enabled transport networking solutions, has inked its deal with Telefonica Germany to supply Coriant 8600 Smart Router Series and Coriant 8000 Intelligent Network Manager (INM).
Support for the evolution of its mobile backhaul network, including the integration of the O2 and E-Plus network infrastructures, is part of the telecom network deal.
The Coriant solution will enable Telefonica Germany to expand coverage across a range of mobile backhaul locations and bandwidth scalability.
SDN-ready 8600 Smart Router Series offers diverse platform options under a common management system for backhaul deployment scenarios from cell sites.
Coriant said the 8000 INM network manager offers Telefonica Germany full network management support and enhanced visibility and control across the network, with automated service configuration and testing tools that make the service creation and validation process efficient, minimizing operational costs.
Cayetano Carbajo, CTO of Telefonica Germany, said: “We need the features of the Coriant IP/MPLS router portfolio – including scalability to 100G and superior 1588v2 synchronization performance – as these will enable us to fully optimize network efficiencies and service performance across our converged network, from high-density aggregation sites to remote locations.”
Coriant’s 8665 Smart Router will play a key role in Telefonica Germany’s network infrastructure. The 8665 is a 900 Gbps full duplex IP/MPLS router that supports high-density 1G/10G aggregation and 100G connectivity, with future scalability to 3 Tbps.
Tarcisio Ribeiro, executive vice president, Global Sales, Coriant, said: “Our Smart Router products are designed to help service providers like Telefonica Germany keep pace with dynamic traffic demands and rapidly introduce new high-value service offerings for their customers.”
