Wynk Music, a mobile application by Bharti Airtel, has reached 1 lakh downloads in 4 days of its launch in the Indian telecom market.
Considering the huge mobile subscriber base, one lakh downloads is not a significant achievement. Globally, Airtel has nearly 300 million users.
Wynk is now #1 in the category of new free apps for music and among the Top 5 apps overall in the Google Play store.
Wynk Music offers curated library of over 1.7 million songs including Hindi, regional and international hits.
The app witnessed traction both on the Google Playstore and iOS store.
Songs from Salman Khan starrer Kick were the most searched, while Tu Meri from the upcoming Hrithik Roshan starrer Bang Bang was streamed the most.
While pop star Yo Yo Honey Singh topped as the most popular artist on the app, Shakira is the only international artist to be among the top 10 in category and Kishore Kumar ranked third.
