Nokia Networks is set to acquire SAC Wireless, based in Schaumburg, Illinois, a provider of infrastructure and network deployment solutions.
The acquisition of SAC Wireless, which has a national footprint, will assist Nokia Networks to increase market share in the network implementation space. The company says there are clear revenue synergies.
Ricky Corker, executive vice president of North America for Nokia Networks, said: “With SAC Wireless’ capabilities complementing our own in-house expertise, we are well positioned to bring enhanced quality and increased end-to-end delivery efficiency to our customers. No other infrastructure provider is offering this level of proven services.”
The acquisition will assist Nokia Networks to address challenges and complexities surrounding telecom site acquisition, permitting, sub-contractor availability, and quality that often hinder network rollout and time to market. Telecom operators want more direct control over their network deployments, said Nokia Networks.
Following the deal, 450 employees of SAC Wireless will move to Nokia Networks. Earlier, Nokia Networks used to outsource telecom site acquisition and related works.
