BBNL signs MoU with Telecom Sector Skill Council

Bharat Broadband Network (BBNL) and Telecom Sector Skill Council (TSSC) signed a memorandum of understanding for skill development in telecom sector.

Ravi Shanker, managing director, BBNL and SP Kochhar, CEO, Telecom Sector Skill Council, signed the MoU in the presence of MF Farooqui, secretary at DoT and chairman of Telecom Commission, SC Misra, member (Services) at Telecom Commission, Anil Kaushal, member (Technology) at Telecom Commission, Rita Teaotia, additional secretary at Department of Telecom and SC Bhargava, director BBNL.

Ravi Shanker said that it is important for the Telecom Sector Skills Council to work alongside USOF and BBNL in order to achieve the stated objective of the National Telecom Policy 2012 through several training programs to be jointly undertaken.

Recently, the Narendra Modi-led BJP government said the BBNL project would be delayed. The project aims at setting up of national optical fiber network to provide connectivity to 250,000 Gram Panchayats in the country for providing broadband connectivity with adequate bandwidth.
