Can Google topple Apple and Microsoft through Chrome Zone?

The Chrome
Zone, first store by the search engine giant,
Google opened its door in
London, UK. There will be more stores further, globally.

The Chrome Zone will
specifically sell Chromebook which features
Chrome web browser, a
12-inch screen for the Samsung model, high-definition webcam, two USB
ports, and Wi-Fi and 3G capability. The first model, called Cr-48 made by Acer
and Samsung is available at a price range of $349 to $499.

Initially Chromebook was available
only online. But now Google has exposed the product more in public so that
consumers can see the product and buy.

The Chromebook and Chrome Zone will increase popularity
of Google Chrome in the market and has the potential to beat Microsoft’s Internet Explorer, which is the most
popular browser as of now. Internet Explorer has global average user share of
41.7 percent, while Firefox currently has a 26.8 percent share and Chrome is
gaining with 23.6 percent.

Google has indulged in
various deals in terms to beat its competitors and lead the industry. Just like
Google has stepped into retail, sometime back Microsoft has done it few years
ago. Microsoft got into the retail game by creating Microsoft stores like PC
World in 2008. Microsoft also opened its prototype Retail Experience Center for
journalists. In February 2009, Microsoft announced it would open its own line
of stores. Now, it’s approaching a dozen and plans to build 75 of them by 2014.

Google acquired Motorola Mobility for $12.5 billion. Motorola is now a dedicated Android partner which
enables Google to
supercharge the Android ecosystem and will enhance competition in mobile
computing. Google is gaining market share by toppling Microsoft’s Windows 7 and
Apple’s iOS by Google’s Android. And now, Google has stepped to overtake Mac
and Windows 7 with Chromebook.

Google is no more a search
engine now. Along with Chromebook, the Chrome store also sells merchandise like
cycle bell, mugs, t-shirts and many more utility items.
