CradlePoint announced the appointment of George Mulhern
as chief executive officer. Pat Sewall, founder and former CEO, has been named
chief technology officer and will maintain a leadership position at CradlePoint
and on the board.
“George was an obvious choice to lead CradlePoint
given his track record of guiding successful technology enterprise teams at HP
and nurturing the entrepreneurial spirit with a variety of startups at Highway
12,” said Gerry Langeler, board director, CradlePoint.
During his twenty-year career at Hewlett Packard (HP),
Mulhern had responsibility for hardware, software and services businesses that
ranged in size from several million dollars to multi-billions of dollars of
annual revenue. Mulhern’s last position with HP was as senior vice president,
leading the LaserJet Global Business Unit.
More recently, Mulhern was a general partner with Highway
12 Ventures, a Boise-based venture capital fund that served as a catalyst for
entrepreneurs and startups to help drive economic growth in the Northwest
region.
George serves on McKinsey & Co.’s Advisory Board for
their technology practice, the Idaho Technology Council Board of Directors, and
is an advisor and guest lecturer at Boise State University. He also served on
the Idaho Governor’s Science and Technology Advisory Council.
CradlePoint recently announced a partnership
with Verizon Wireless to offer three new 4G LTE wireless broadband solutions
designed to get business online faster, keep their networks connected longer,
and power high-speed access to today’s cloud computing services.
CradlePoint provides access to the Verizon
4G LTE Network through CradlePoint routers that use Verizon Wireless
external USB data modem sticks.
