Idea Cellular 3G data ARPU increased to Rs 109 in first quarter of FY 2014 from Rs 105 in fourth quarter of FY 2013 and Rs 89 in the first quarter of FY 2013.
The year-on-year increase in 3G data ARPU of Idea Cellular was 22.47 percent.
Idea Cellular on Thursday said its 3G data usage increased to 398 MB in Q1 FY 2014 from 385 MB in Q4 FY 2013.
3G data volume of Idea Cellular increased to 6,334 million MB from 5,231 million MB.
2G data volume increased to 13,791 million MB from 11,421 million MB, the company said on Thursday.
The company’s total data ARPU (both 2G and 3G) decreased to Rs 54 from Rs 55. In Q1 FY 2013, the total data ARPU was Rs 47.
Idea Cellular’s total data usage decreased to 160 MB from 163 MB, a strong indication that 3G users are driving its data traffic.
During the first quarter of fiscal 2014, Idea Cellular achieved 125 million users from 121.6 million in Q4 FY 2013.
Idea Cellular’s 3G subscribers rose to 5.5 million from 5.1 million in Q4 FY 2013.
Total ARPU of Idea Cellular rose to Rs 174 from 167 in Q4 FY 2013 and Rs 156 in Q1 FY 2013.
VAS contributes 16 percent to service revenue from 15.2 percent in the fourth quarter.
Data contributes 7.2 percent to service revenue compared with 6.6 percent earlier.
