Comcast Brings High-Speed Broadband to Nearly 400 More New Jersey Homes and Businesses

Comcast has completed a network expansion in Bloomsbury, New Jersey, connecting nearly 400 additional homes and businesses to its fiber-powered network. The rollout gives residents access to Xfinity high-speed internet, mobile, entertainment, voice and smart-home services, while businesses can access Comcast Business connectivity and networking solutions. The expansion is part of Comcast’s broader investment across New Jersey, where the company connected another 43,000 homes and businesses over the past year. The company said the new infrastructure is designed to provide more reliable connectivity for work, education, streaming and business operations. The development expands broadband availability while increasing consumer and business access to multi-gigabit connectivity and related digital services.

Epiris Seals $1.46 Billion Deal to Acquire UK Telecom Firm Gamma Communications

British telecommunications company Gamma Communications has agreed to be acquired by London-based private equity firm Epiris in a deal valued at £1.08 billion, or about $1.46 billion, including debt. The agreement follows several months of takeover negotiations and represents a major transaction in the UK telecom sector. Gamma provides communications services to business customers, making the acquisition significant for the enterprise connectivity market. The transaction highlights continued private equity interest in established telecommunications companies with recurring business demand and growth opportunities. Epiris will take Gamma private under the agreement, adding another major telecom transaction to a broader wave of private equity activity involving UK companies.

Airtel Africa Plans $1.1 Billion Network Investment Across 14 Markets Airtel Africa plans to invest about $1.1 billion across its operations as the telecom group expands network coverage and prepares for rising demand for data and artificial intelligence services. CEO Sunil Taldar said capital expenditure will focus on expanding coverage, increasing data capacity, strengthening fibre transmission infrastructure, acquiring spectrum and developing home broadband services. The investment comes as Airtel targets growth across its 14 African markets, where telecom and smartphone penetration remain relatively low. The company is also facing operational challenges including unreliable power supply and vandalism of telecommunications infrastructure. Airtel’s investment plan reflects continued demand for digital connectivity across Africa and a push to strengthen network capacity and infrastructure resilience.
