Today’s telecom news includes announcements on Breezeline, DIRECTV, Lightyear, ConnX, among others.

Breezeline and DIRECTV Expand Streaming Options
Breezeline has partnered with DIRECTV to launch a new streaming-focused bundle designed to give customers greater flexibility across live sports and entertainment programming. The offering combines Breezeline’s internet services with DIRECTV streaming packages, targeting households increasingly shifting from traditional pay-TV toward streaming-based viewing. Customers will have access to flexible programming choices, including live sports and entertainment, while receiving a two-year price guarantee. The partnership strengthens Breezeline’s competitive position in the broadband and entertainment market by combining connectivity with a broader content proposition. The launch reflects the continued convergence of broadband and streaming services as telecom operators seek to increase customer value, differentiate their offerings and reduce churn in an increasingly competitive communications market.
Lightyear Brings Agentic AI to Enterprise Telecom
Lightyear has launched what it describes as the first agentic platform for enterprise telecommunications, introducing AI agents designed to automate major stages of telecom procurement and implementation. Its Dispatch platform allows users to query network data and create reports using natural language, while its initial AI agents automate quoting and implementation tasks. Lightyear says its Quoting Agent can return bids 30 to 50 percent faster, while its Implementation Agent can reduce installation timelines by five to 10 days. The platform has been trained using more than 2 million telecom quotes from 1,200 carriers collected since 2019. Lightyear plans to expand agentic AI across the telecom lifecycle, targeting faster procurement, lower costs and greater operational efficiency for enterprise customers.
ConnX Wins Wisconsin Statewide Enterprise Voice Contract
ConnX has secured a position under the State of Wisconsin’s Statewide Enterprise Voice Services contract, expanding its ability to provide telecommunications and enterprise communications services to state agencies. Under the contract, agencies can access ConnX solutions covering telecommunications numbers, analog replacement, hosted IP telephony, conferencing, contact center services and PBX replacement. The statewide agreement provides a standardized procurement channel for agencies seeking to modernize voice communications and transition from legacy systems to hosted and IP-based services. The agreement is scheduled to run through June 30, 2028. The award strengthens ConnX’s public-sector presence and highlights continued government demand for scalable enterprise voice, unified communications and legacy infrastructure replacement as agencies modernize their communications environments.
