Verizon announced the launch of the Verizon 6G Innovation Forum, bringing together top technology companies to drive the next generation of wireless innovation.

This strategic initiative unites industry leaders — including Ericsson, Samsung Electronics, Nokia, Meta, and Qualcomm— to collaboratively define 6G, identify new use cases, and develop the foundational technologies that will power the 6G era.
The 6G market is projected to reach approximately USD 57.55 billion by 2034, growing at a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 24 percent from 2025 to 2034, according to Precedence Research. This growth is driven by the increasing demand for ultra-fast connectivity, ultra-low latency, and the integration of advanced technologies such as artificial intelligence (AI) and the Internet of Things (IoT).
Technological developments are progressing rapidly. A notable achievement is the creation of a full-spectrum 6G chip capable of transferring data at 100 gigabits per second—10,000 times faster than current 5G technology. This advancement could significantly enhance connectivity in rural areas and support high-demand applications like AI computing and 8K video streaming.
The forum aims to create an open, resilient, and globally aligned 6G ecosystem, accelerating innovation across devices, networks, and applications. By fostering collaboration among network vendors, chipset manufacturers, and device innovators, Verizon is setting the stage for transformative wireless experiences in both consumer and enterprise markets.
Joe Russo, President, Global Networks and Technology at Verizon, said: “5G Advanced lays the foundation for the 6G future — whether that’s new wearables, AI experiences, or entirely new use cases we haven’t even imagined yet. With the best team in the industry, we will build the future of these solutions with our partners.”
“We’re thrilled to collaborate with Verizon to revolutionize the future of wireless communication with 6G and AI technologies, building on the large-scale vRAN capabilities developed together to unlock innovative user experiences in the 6G era,” Charlie Zhang, Senior Vice President, Samsung Research America.
Verizon’s commitment extends beyond 6G theory. By integrating Artificial Intelligence (AI) into its network infrastructure for over a decade, the company is enhancing network performance and enabling businesses to leverage AI at scale.
The 6G Innovation Forum will further Verizon’s AI Connect strategy and strengthen its intelligent edge capabilities, allowing enterprises to manage real-time AI workloads efficiently using Verizon’s award-winning network.
Key focus areas for the Verizon 6G Innovation Forum include:
Testing new spectrum bands and bandwidths to unlock the full potential of 6G.
Promoting global 6G harmonization through collaboration with standards bodies such as 3GPP to ensure interoperability across devices and networks.
Launching Verizon 6G Labs, starting in Los Angeles, to provide a real-world environment for research, prototyping, and early lab and field trials.
With the launch of the forum, Verizon is not only advancing 6G research but also paving the way for next-generation wireless applications that will transform how people live, work, and play.
