BT CEO Philip Jansen to step down

BT Group today revealed that its Chief Executive Officer Philip Jansen will step down within the next 12 months.
BT CEO Philip Jansen on HuaweiUK’s leading telecom operator will announce a new CEO shortly as replacement for Philip Jansen, who spent four and half years at BT.

“Philip Jansen has done an excellent job in his time at BT and the Board is supportive of our long-term strategy which he and his team are pursuing. Whilst we are in the early years of that transformation we are on track to deliver. The succession process to replace Philip is something that the Board was well prepared for,” Adam Crozier, BT Group Chairman said.

“We’ve made a lot of progress over the last four and half years. We’re investing heavily in both BT’s and the UK’s future. We’re building like fury, have now passed over 11 million homes with fibre, have got 5G service to 68 percent of the country and our customer service is much improved,” Philip Jansen said.

BT has FTTP build of 702k premises passed; FTTP footprint of 10.3 million; and 8.6 million 5G connections during the first quarter of fiscal 2024. BT reported revenue of £20.7 billion (down 1 percent) with Adjusted EBITDA of £7.9 billion, (up 5 percent).
