EE offers free data during England vs. Italy Euro 2020 final

EE, the UK’s best network, is offering free data across its mobile network on Sunday to football fans to watch England vs. Italy final.

EE and BT Mobile customers, including EE SME customers, will receive free data from 6 pm-midnight on Sunday 11 July to make calls, to stream the game, message their friends and share their predictions.

Recent major football fixtures have driven record-breaking peaks on EE’s mobile network, and with England’s men’s team in a major football final for the first time in 55 years, we can expect similar this weekend, Marc Allera, CEO of BT’s Consumer Group, said.

Chelsea’s victory over Manchester City in the Champions League final in May set the record for the biggest mobile data peak the EE mobile network has ever seen. This smashed the record previously set by the Europa final three days earlier when Manchester United lost out to Villareal on penalties.

EE runs the UK’s biggest and fastest mobile network, offering superfast connections in more places than any other operator. EE brought the first 4G network to the UK in October 2012, and launched the UK’s first 5G network in May 2019.

EE has received recognition, including being named the UK’s no.1 5G network by RootMetrics in 2020 and 2021.
