SoftBank and KDDI start JV to share 5G network in rural areas

SoftBank and KDDI announced a 50-50 joint venture called 5G Japan Corporation to promote the build-out of 5G networks in Japan’s rural areas.

5G Japan will share 5G base stations owned by SoftBank and KDDI to accelerate the rollout of 5G networks in rural Japan.

The joint venture will also conduct construction design and construction management work for 5G base stations. Noriaki Terao is the president and Eiji Otaki is the vice president of 5G Japan.
