Go Ignite, an alliance of four leading telecom operators, has launched “Go Ignite: 5G Open Call for start-ups call” for startups or venture capital-backed companies for developing 5G products or services for the business or consumer sectors.
Deutsche Telekom, Orange, Singtel and Telefonica are the members of Go Ignite.
Participants can submit their proposals from July 22 to September 7, 2020 at www.go-ignite.com.
The members of the alliance will evaluate the proposals based on the degree of technological innovation, its viability, the speed of execution and the maturity of each project.
The selected startups will have the opportunity to present their proposals to the managers of the members of the Go Ignite alliance in an online workshop being held from September 21 to 23, 2020.
The workshop is designed to help startups validate their proposals through the participation of the business units of the alliance members. Startups will be able to hone their solutions and fine-tune their strategies to better align their innovations with market requirements, the Go Ignite alliance said.
Startups that complete the online workshop will be better positioned to launch their 5G products or services to the market, as Go Ignite members total more than 1.2 billion customers in Africa, Europe, Latin America, the Middle East, Southeast Asia and Australia.
Axel Menneking, head of Hubraum; Karine Dussert Sarthe, executive vice president of Marketing and Product Design, Orange Innovation Division; Edgar Hardless, CEO of Singtel Innov8; and Miguel Arias, global director of Entrepreneurship at Telefonica are driving the project.
