Bharti Airtel, India’s second largest telecommunications service provider, announced today that it has amassed a staggering 50 million 5G customers on its network — within just a year of the Airtel 5G Plus launch. This signifies a significant stride in the country’s 5G adoption and marks a remarkable expansion in Airtel’s 5G coverage since its launch in October 2022.
Airtel 5G Plus services are now accessible across all districts, covering the length and breadth of the nation, and are available in every state and union territory, comprising a total of 28 states and 8 union territories.
Randeep Sekhon, Chief Technology Officer at Bharti Airtel, expressed his enthusiasm regarding this achievement, stating, “This marks a substantial expansion of Airtel’s 5G coverage, transitioning from 1 million customers in October of 2022 to an impressive 50 million within just 12 months since the initial launch.”
